Indorama commences commercial production at Himachal Pradesh facility

Indorama India Private Limited which is engaged in the production & marketing of the INVIYA® brand of spandex since 2012 commenced commercial production of its 3rd manufacturing facility at Baddi in Himachal Pradesh on February 4th, 2023.

It is noteworthy that the ground-breaking ceremony was solemnized in December 2021 and commercial production has started in an ambitious time frame of 13 months.

The commencement of the 3rd plant at Baddi in Feb 2023, with an addition of 25 MTs per day, has taken the total production capacity to 65 MTs per day, which is a giant leap from less than 15 MTs per day in 2017. The company is thankful to its valued customers for their wholehearted support during the development stage and through this exciting and enriching journey of over a decade.

INVIYA® holds a leadership position in providing functional solutions to high-end garments, accessories like elastics, tapes, etc., and hygiene products like diapers. The company offers a complete range of spandex products under the brand names INVIYA® (Semi-Dull), STOLID® (Full-Dull), ECOModa100TM (100% Recycled), and SnugFit® (Diaper grade). The company also offers other Differentiated/Specialty spandex products like Coloured Spandex from 20D onwards and Ultra-Fine Deniers like 10D/15D.

Incidentally, Indorama, INVIYA® Spandex is the only company in the Indian subcontinent to produce spandex meant for hygiene applications, which is available under the brand SnugFit® that caters to baby and adult diaper manufacturers.

ECOModa100™, 100% Recycled Spandex from Indorama, announced in January 2023, is approved as preferred recycled material subject to the approach of Chain of Custody by GAP Inc. and getting very encouraging responses from other Global & Indian brands. ECOModa100™ uses state-of-the-art technology and process know-how developed through continuous R&D with the help of renowned process technologists and spandex polymer experts.

Indorama has established logistics and operational support for the recycling of material.

The company has invested in building strong technical capabilities. It has an in-house polymer R&D facility along with a textile and diaper grade application development center to study customer needs, formulate various polymers, continuously improve & offer world-class products.

On the business front, INVIYA® remains bullish on growing business opportunities aided by PLI Scheme, PM Mitra Parks, and FTAs, being pursued by the Government of India along with decisive actions undertaken to promote MSMEs, which form the backbone of the fragmented textile and clothing value chain, will help Indian textile sector in emerging as a strong competitor in the global market.
