Following the convincing performance of Trützschler Nonwovens’ first line, Phoenix Textile decided again to partner with Trützschler for its new high-performance line.
The highly flexible Spunlace Line 6 successfully started on January 21, 2022 and was officially put into production. It processes blends of polyester/viscose fibers for light- to medium weight webs. But, it is also suited for the production of biodegradable nonwovens from 100% pure viscose fibers and blends with bleached cotton.
Trützschler Nonwovens supplied the whole process equipment for opening and blending, a NCT high speed card, the AquaJet for spunlacing, a multi-drum dryer and a winder.
The close cooperation between Phoenix and Trützschler Nonwovens started with Spunlace Line 5 when Mr. Shi Chengkuang, General Manager of Phoenix Textile visited the NCTC, the Nonwoven Customer and Technology Center, in Egelsbach, Germany. Trützschler’s high-performance equipment soon implemented the company’s plan for continuous growth in the highly competitive Chinese wipes market. A third Trützschler Nonwovens spunlacing line is planned to be put into operation in August this year.
China is the largest production base for wet and dry wipes. Already several years ago, many Chinese nonwoven companies specialised in this market segment to fulfil the ever-growing demand for baby, body and household wipes. The pandemic fuelled people’s health and safety concerns and let production of disinfectant wipes surge on all continents.
Hangzhou Xiaoshan Phoenix Textile realised the potential market development already in early 2020 and ordered what is now known as Spunlace Line 6. The company, established in 2001 and located in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, is a seasoned producer of a large variety of textiles and. In nonwovens Phoenix specialises in high-quality baby wipes for domestic and international markets.
