Thailand hosts ANTEX Asia 2024 reinforcing its status as ASEAN’s Hub for industry innovations

The Asia Nonwovens Technology Expo 2024 (ANTEX Asia 2024), the premier trade event dedicated to the latest in nonwoven materials and technologies, officially opens its doors today in Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre (BITEC), Thailand, showcasing the sector’s newest innovations and serving as a pivotal hub for industry professionals across Southeast Asia and the ASEAN regions.

With the Thailand Textile Institute (THTI) and the Thai Nonwoven Fabrics Industry Trade Association (TNFA) as the local hosts, along with backing from 19 industry associations, ANTEX Asia 2024 has garnered substantial support, highlighting its significance in the industry. Over 100 exhibitors from 10 countries and regions gather at the Expo to present a variety of materials, production technologies, equipment, and new product designs across various sectors, ensuring industry professionals to find customized solutions and connect with key industry players crucial for business success.

Distinguished guests at the Opening Ceremony

The Expo is honored to have distinguished representatives from prominent trade associations to attend the Opening Ceremony. This includes Mr. Asi Thansathit from The Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), Dr. Chanchai Sirikasemlert from THTI, and Mr. Niwat Lertnimittham from TNFA. Their presence highlights the collaborative efforts and strategic insights that underscore the Expo’s pivotal role in advancing the nonwoven industry across Southeast Asia and beyond.

Mr. Asi Thansathit, Vice President of FTI, stated that the Federation is committed to linking Thailand’s key industries, fostering strong cooperation both domestically and internationally, and supporting technological and innovative advancements to enhance Thailand’s competitiveness in the global market for sustainable growth.

Dr. Chanchai Sirikesamlert, Director of THTI, stated that ANTEX Asia 2024 was a vital platform to establish international standards by advancing the nonwovens industry towards sustainable growth through the creation of new innovations and environmentally friendly technologies. “It will promote the circular economy, boosting confidence in the quality of Thai nonwoven products and enhancing Thailand’s reputation as a leader in sustainable manufacturing in the region. Simultaneously, it will foster regional cooperation networks, enabling the exchange of ideas and in-depth knowledge about industry trends, which will help create effective market expansion strategies,” said Dr. Chanchai.

Mr. Niwat Lertnimittham, President of TNFA, said that the nonwoven industry in Asia was growing rapidly and was in high demand in global markets, supported by increasing demand in key sectors such as healthcare, hygiene, automotive, and construction, as well as the sustainability and circular economy trends. “ANTEX Asia 2024 will help position Thailand as the nonwovens industry hub in the region, reducing challenges and increasing economic opportunities in various sectors. The event is an important platform for building economic cooperation, attracting investments, promoting the development of technologies and innovations aligned with global environmental standards, increasing raw material sourcing capabilities to reduce production and import costs, and creating opportunities for Thai workers to develop skills that meet industry demands, said Mr. Lertnimittham.

To be held concurrently with the Expo, the ANTEX Asia Nonwovens Conference 2024 kicks off with compelling keynote speeches focusing on the Nonwoven Market Overview in the Asian Region. Dr. Chanchai Sirikasemlert delivered a keynote on “Sustainable Development in Textiles: Pioneering New Frontiers in the Nonwoven Industry,” while Mr. Niwat Lersnimitthum discussed the “Current Status & Prospect of Thailand’s Nonwoven Industry and Strategic Roles of the Nonwoven Industry in Thailand’s Economic Growth.” These presentations are set to provide valuable insights into the growth and sustainable advancement of the nonwoven sector.

ANTEX Asia 2024 is, therefore, an efficient trading platform for connecting entrepreneurs from both within and outside the country to meet, exchange knowledge, explore the latest nonwoven products, technologies, and innovations. The Expo has successfully attracted visitor pre-registrations from diverse regions including Asia, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Europe, reaffirming its status as a truly international platform for Southeast Asia.
