Unveiling VertiDry: Monforts’ Energy-Saving Breakthrough at ITMA ASIA 2025

In an era defined by geopolitical uncertainties, trade disruptions, and growing demands for sustainability, leading textile technology providers are redefining their role in the global value chain. A. Monforts Textilmaschinen GmbH & Co. KG, one of the world’s foremost names in textile finishing machinery, is a prime example of this evolution. No longer positioning itself as a mere machinery supplier, Monforts is steadily emerging as a consulting partner, guiding mills and manufacturers across continents with advanced technologies, sustainable solutions, and hands-on expertise.

Nicole Croonenbroek

In a conversation with The Textile Magazine, Nicole Croonenbroek, Marketing Manager, and Hans Wroblowski, Area Sales Director at Monforts, shared insights into the company’s latest innovations, its performance in global and Indian markets, and its vision for the future.

Navigating a Challenging Global Environment

The year 2025 has brought with it multiple headwinds – from wars to tariff impositions and policy unpredictability. According to Hans Wroblowski, the uncertainty has now become systemic rather than episodic, shaping investment decisions across industries. Despite this, Monforts has remained resilient. “The world will always need the products of our customers,” he emphasized, underscoring the company’s strong order flow and continued relevance in uncertain times.

VertiDry: A Breakthrough in Space and Energy Efficiency

Innovation lies at the heart of Monforts’ growth. Nicole Croonenbroek highlighted the company’s latest development – VertiDry, a vertical dryer designed to address growing concerns over space, energy consumption, and CO₂ emissions.

The contactless, energy-optimized convection dryer integrates seamlessly into finishing lines and can handle sensitive fabrics requiring pre-drying, as well as specialized applications like airbags, denim, glass-fibre substrates, sportswear, and geotextiles. Its modular design allows integration into both new and existing lines, with the flexibility to accommodate single or multi-storey versions.

“The VertiDry reflects our focus on combining compact design with high adaptability,” Croonenbroek noted. The unit is compatible with all major heating sources and can be integrated with the Monforts Energy Tower for efficient heat recovery – a move aligning with mills’ sustainability goals.

Showcasing Innovations at ITMA Asia 2025

At the upcoming ITMA ASIA in Singapore, Monforts will spotlight the VertiDry alongside a major new technology collaboration in the field of advanced textile dyeing. While details remain under wraps until the show, Croonenbroek revealed that the emphasis will be on breakthrough solutions that deliver both energy savings and process efficiency, reinforcing Monforts’ role as a leader in sustainable finishing.

Growth Markets and Global Performance

Despite tariff pressures and regional slowdowns, Monforts continues to perform strongly in Europe, India, and Pakistan, while other markets remain under strain. This resilience has been driven by the company’s emphasis on localized support, tailored solutions, and sustainability-focused technologies.

India: A Strategic Growth Market

India remains a priority market for Monforts. According to Wroblowski, the company’s success is driven by its strong partnerships and the country’s dynamic economic growth. Recent innovations such as the Eco Applicator, MontexCoat, and now VertiDry are enabling Indian mills to achieve higher efficiency, lower resource consumption, and superior quality.

A significant industry shift is also underway: the move from cotton to man-made fibres (MMFs), combined with new investments in dyeing and processing. Monforts is not just supplying machinery here—it is actively guiding mills through the transition, offering consulting expertise, training programs, and sustainability solutions. This approach ensures that Indian customers are prepared to meet both domestic and global demand while adhering to environmental standards.

Driving Automation and Digital Transformation

Digitization and automation are becoming central to modern textile operations. Monforts is advancing digital tools that give mills greater process control, enhance efficiency, and reduce energy use. These
solutions not only deliver economic benefits but also strengthen sustainability credentials for manufacturers navigating tightening global regulations.

Sustainability as a Business Imperative

For Monforts, sustainability is non-negotiable. The company has committed to cutting its CO₂ emissions by up to 50% by 2030. Its product portfolio is geared toward helping customers do the same—through optimized resource use, integrated heat recovery systems, and eco-friendly processes. Croonenbroek emphasized that sustainability is driving customer choices more than ever before: “Responsible, high-quality machinery manufacturers are essential in building a cleaner and safer world for future generations.”

The Road Ahead: Strengthening Partnerships and Expanding Reach

Looking ahead, Monforts sees technology, sustainability, and shifting consumer demands as the key forces reshaping the textile industry. To stay ahead, the company is investing in:

 Digitalization and automation to improve efficiency.

 Global service networks and partnerships for closer customer support.

 Comprehensive after-sales service, including training, remote diagnostics, and rapid response teams to maximize machine value.

By combining innovation with consulting-driven partnerships, Monforts is positioning itself as a catalyst for transformation across the global textile sector. Monforts’ journey reflects the changing expectations from machinery manufacturers in the 21st century. In an industry navigating uncertainty, the company is embracing its role as a consulting partner, guiding mills toward sustainable growth, greater efficiency, and future-ready operations. With innovations like VertiDry, a stronger footprint in India, and a sharp focus on
digitalization, Monforts is not only weathering today’s challenges but also shaping the textile industry of tomorrow.
