Techtextil India underscores the country’s rising global role

Nonwovens Technical Textiles

Techtextil India concluded with strong appreciation from Messe Frankfurt’s Sabine Scharrer, Director of Brand Management for Technical Textiles and Textile Processing, who described the event as impressive in both scale and quality. Sharing her reflections after the show, she noted that the innovation showcased by Indian and international exhibitors, along with the high level of visitor engagement, demonstrated the growing maturity and dynamism of India’s technical textile ecosystem.

Scharrer emphasised that India has become one of the most important markets in the global technical-textiles landscape. At Techtextil Frankfurt, India consistently ranks among the top five exhibiting nations, and its influence continues to rise as the country increases investments across nonwovens, industrial textiles, filtration, composites and performance materials. This growth, she remarked, positions India as a key contributor to Messe Frankfurt’s global network of textile industry events.

Encouraging Indian companies to participate in Techtextil Frankfurt, she highlighted the show as a gateway to international partnerships, advanced research, and next-generation technologies. With exhibitors and visitors from more than fifty countries, Frankfurt provides an unparalleled platform for Indian manufacturers, innovators and research organisations to find development partners and bring their capabilities onto the world stage.

Reflecting on the global textile environment, Scharrer acknowledged the economic and geopolitical challenges faced by the industry. Yet, she pointed out that technical textiles remain resilient due to their diversified applications and innovation-driven growth. Segments such as performance industrial textiles and advanced materials continue to expand, offering strong opportunities despite market uncertainties.

Scharrer’s overall sentiment was one of confidence: India’s capabilities, coupled with its rising global presence, make it a pivotal player in the future of technical textiles. Techtextil India, she noted, clearly reflects this momentum.
