Driving Innovation in Filtration: Navis TubeTex and Fibroline Unite for a Sustainable Future

Nonwovens Technical Textiles

In a rapidly evolving global filtration market, innovation and sustainability are no longer optional—they’re imperative. Navis TubeTex, a global leader in finishing machinery, and Fibroline, a specialist in dry impregnation technologies, have formed a strategic partnership poised to reshape the landscape of air and liquid filtration. Ahead of their jointly organized Fibroline Filtration Days, Will Motchar, President of Navis TubeTex, and Jérôme Ville, CEO of Fibroline, share their insights on the goals of this collaboration, the unique advantages of Fibroline’s technologies, and how their shared vision is unlocking new opportunities in high-performance and eco-friendly filtration solutions.

Mr. Motchar, Navis TubeTex is partnering with Fibroline for the organization of the Fibroline Filtration Days later this month. Could you tell us more about that?

Will Motchar: We are very much looking forward to this event. It will span over three days and will consist of several activities to introduce potential partners to these technologies’ competitive advantages for the filtration sector. First, we will show the latest evolutions of the Fibroline technologies, and then we will have lab scale demonstrations. We will also have individualized discussions to explore potential applications in full confidentiality.

Mr. Ville, in what way is the filtration sector of strategic importance for Fibroline?

Jérôme Ville: This sector has tremendous potential, and we have the expertise to make an impact. Fibroline has experienced significant growth over the last few months, with two ongoing technology transfers still confidential for now. There are many applications for which our technologies can be used, whether for liquid or air filtration, such as: military applications with war gases capture, carbon capture, odor absorption or pollutants capture.

At this point, most of our developments have come out of Europe. One of the goals of our partnership through this event is to access new North American clients.

What do the Fibroline technologies bring to the filtration sector?

Jérôme Ville: As these technologies are based on dry impregnation, they do not require any liquid binders. This greatly reduces the clogging effect and allows the active ingredient, in powder form, to remain fully available. Overall, this results in significantly higher efficiency of the impregnated
products.

Furthermore, using actives in powder form leads to a larger specific surface area compared to beads or pellets, which enhances performance. Beyond these technical advantages, our solutions also enable the use of new materials, paving the way for the development of innovative products.

Fibroline’s technologies apply just as well to textiles and yarns. Mr. Motchar, does Navis TubeTex intend to diversify its offer and take on both these markets?

Will Motchar: Navis TubeTex has the capacity and expertise to build industrial machines for all of Fibroline’s technologies. We have extensive experience and expertise in textiles and yarns. So yes, it is our intention to address these markets with the Fibroline technologies.

Mr. Ville, can you tell us more about the eco-friendly aspects of your technologies?

Jérôme Ville: All our technologies are solvent-free, eliminating the use of hazardous substances and simplifying the manufacturing process. This reduces safety constraints and operational complexity, while supporting compliance with environmental regulations such as TSCA. Moreover, these technologies do not require energy-intensive drying steps, leading to significantly lower energy consumption and a reduced environmental footprint—making them both efficient and sustainable.

Mr. Motchar, how do you feel about the partnership so far, with the inauguration of the Fibroline USA Innovation Lab in February?

Will Motchar: The partnership is already starting to bear fruits. We have an active portfolio of clients, and projects, that is growing with whom we see remarkable potential to develop innovative applications along with new products for our customers. We have also successfully set up the collaboration between our technical team and Fibroline’s innovation team. But we know the best is yet to come!
